Train Tickets-- Can I pay by credit cards?

Because I have to pay for 3 tickets at a time, can I pay by credit card or do I have to pay in cash for the Metro, RER and SCNF? Please advise. Thanks.

Hi;

Most credit cards are accepted for ticket purchases...

Manned ticket windows at Metro, RER and SNCF train stations will readily accept US-issues VISA and MasterCards. ..***BUT***...automatic ticket vending macines at these train stations will ***NOT*** accept US-issued credit cards...only European-issued cards, with embedded %26#39;smart chips%26#39;. Manned ticket windows have %26#39;dual-read%26#39; machines...accepting both US and European-issued cards.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it!

Cash for Metro tickets.

You may purcahse METRO tickets and passes with a major credit card as well....though using a credit card to purchase a single Metro ticket would be stupid (though some do).
