Hotel Michelet Odeon

Has anyone any experience of the family apartment in this hotel..? The reviews on TA are good - though I am nervous about booking a 2 star hotel! We%26#39;re only stopping in Paris for one night, so the location is ideal.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Jen, its only one night and there is nothing wrong with most 2 stars unless you are a princess.

If reveiws are good, and location is good, then just bite the bullet.

I have booked serveral hotels in Paris using the TA reveiws and found them to be exactly what I expected( actually one hotel was nicer then I expected) .

Jen, for the most part, the number of stars assigned to a hotel are indicators of their amenities (bar, room service, etc) and seldom reflect their actual %26quot;quality%26quot;. I can confidently say that we%26#39;ve had far more satisfying 2-star experiences than 3-star. The extra money spent on stars usually goes to amenities we don%26#39;t take advantage of.

Thanks for that - has anyone actually stayed in the Michelet Odeon? Would just be happier if someone had personal experience of this hotel.

Thanks

Jen.

As noted, official hotel%26#39;..star..%26#39; ratings are largely predicated upon the total number of rooms in the hotel, sizes of those rooms and hotel provided amenities. Actual/relative %26#39;..quality..%26#39; of the hotel isn%26#39;t really a factor. Over the past several years, many 2-star hotels have renovated/remodeled and up-graded their amenities (but neither increased the number od sizes of their rooms) and for tax purposes, do not apply for ratings %26#39;star%26#39; up-grades. So it is entirely possible to book a two-star hotel and receive the same (or in some instances better) relative %26#39;quality%26#39; than some 3-stars.

The HÔTEL MICHELET ODÉON is one of these 2-star properties. They%26#39;ve renovated/refurbished over the past few years and up-graded much of the hotel. We%26#39;ve acquaintances who%26#39;ve stayed here during this period who%26#39;ve been very pleased with the hotel, its amenities, staff and particularly its LOCATION...and would return again. Room sizes tend to be a little on the small side...but as with most smaller Parisian hotels, this is a fairly common and frequent state of affairs. In any event, room sizes at the Michelet Odéon are certainly adequate. This is a rock-solid, 2-star choice, in a GREAT neighborhood and convenient LOCATION.

I have just stayed at the Hotel Michelet Odeon, 26/06/08. Rooms are clean, modern and tidy. The corner rooms are noisy with the balcony doors open, but they do have double glazing so quiet when doors are shut. No fridge or air conditioning though.
