Transportation in Bordeaux / Lilbourn. MANY THANKS!

Dear all,

Me and my Friend is visiting to Bordeaux during Sept. We will be traveling from Paris to Bordeaux by TGV. We have found these 2 hotels in Lilbourn, one called Chateau de la Riviere and the other one called Chateau L’Escarderie. Would anyone have any comments on these two hotels? Also, since we are not plan to drive, do anyone knew how far is these two hotel is away from the TGV station in Lilbourn? Is it possible to walk from the station or somewhere we can found taxi / bike?

Thanks….

Libourne is a small town and I walked across it in 30 minutes.

However the Chateau de la Riviere is 5 miles out of town and the Chateau L’Escarderie a little more, so it looks like you will need a taxi from Libourne station.

Just a note - you do know that there are a few direct TGV trains from Paris to Libourne? Many of the Bordeaux trains go through Libourne without stopping and if you go to Bordeaux you will then need to take a local train for the 30 minutes or so ride back to Libourne.

Thanks cubsur!

That’s nice, two weeks in Bordeaux...Lucky you ~

Thanks for your information, and by knowing both Chateau de la Riviere and Chateau L’Escarderie are actually far away from the town, and since we are not planning on driving, we are now reconsidering our stay in both Chateaus…

It has been frustrating to look for accommodation that in Bordeaux, especially Chateaus with B%26amp;B… would you have any recommendations, that is either close to Pauillac or Bordeaux? Thanks.
