Which cycle tour is better? Fat Tire or Bike About

I apologise if this has been asked recently, if so a link to the thread would be great.

Do people have a preferred cycle tour of Paris? I understand that the two main companies are Fat Tire Bike Tours from the Eiffel Tower and Bike About Tours from Notre Dame. Is one better than the other, or are there any others worth investigating?

My husband and I took a Bike About Tour in June of this year and would highly recommend it. It was reasonable, the guide was very informative and the size of the tour is kept very small - we had eight people, I think they only take 10 per tour. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to book an evening tour that week - but they were booked up, maybe next time!

We passed some Fat Tire tours during our visit and they had huge groups of people on the tours we saw.

I%26#39;ve gone on the Night Tour with FTBT five times in the past 2.5 years and had a blast each time. It%26#39;s been balmy t-shirt weather in April and Sept and also chilly lined jacket weather the same months. The groups have been Yanks, Texans, Brits, Ozzies, and Nz and assorted other English-speaking folks. I%26#39;ve had a screaming match with a taxi driver on St Germain du Pres and had to take back one of the bikes from a drunk on the Pont du Arts, but it%26#39;s always interesting and the wine on the Seine makes it all good. Their Gear, hats and t-shirts, etc., make great souvenirs and I%26#39;ve used their computers too.

Along with the Hippodrome du Auteuil and Longchamp...it%26#39;s my favorite thing in Paris.

Hi djkBrooks - Tell us more about the bike tour you took!!

What month were you there? Is the bike totally electric or can you pedal too? We will be there in early October and were thinking of taking a bike tour and this one looks great. Thanks.

All this is good to know. I%26#39;ve decided to go with Bike About tours today (Friday) and when I return to Paris in November/December try Ramblin%26#39; Man%26#39;s suggestion of a night tour, when it%26#39;s darker than it is now. I don%26#39;t really like electric bikes although the website is great.
