From Station to Hotel and to Eiffel Tower

Hi,

We will be staying at the hotel de l%26#39;Océan in Paris. Address is: 7, Rue Mayran, 75009 Paris, France.

From what I have read the closest metro station to this hotel is %26quot;Cadet%26quot;. Can any one please guide me on:

1. How to get from the Gare du Nord train station to my hotel. (This is the station where we will arrive from Brugge)

2. How to get from my hotel to Eiffel tower.

3. How to get from my hotel to the CDG airport via metro.

Thanks for your help.

You can figure this out very easily with the Itinerary function on www.ratp.fr

Thanks.... this is a great site.

Upon arrival at PARIS-Gare du Nord, I%26#39;d be inclined to simply walk to the end of your THALYS arrival platform, turn right and wak[ls straight ahead along the main concourse of the station to the regular Taxi rank. Take a Taxi Parisian from here, the relatively short distance (probably at or around the minimum 5,70€ taxi fare) to the HÉTEL de l%26#39;OCÉAN.

To get from the immediate vicinity of your hotel, you could take the #32--GARE de l%26#39;EST/PORTE d%26#39;AUTEUIL bus route from it%26#39;s stop at CADET Metro (heading in the direction of Porte d%26#39;Auteuil) to it%26#39;s stop at TROCADERO. Buses make great raised platforms to see Paris as you go. The Metro is darker less %26#39;scenic%26#39;. From the TROCADERO bus stop, walk to the wide steps at the center of Palais de Chaillot and up onto gilded-statuary-lined, the center terrace between the two wings of the Palais. From here you will have a fine view of a tall, pointy construction...it%26#39;s name will come to me in time...but for some reason, it seems to amuse most visitors.

OR...take the #42--Gare du Nord/Hôpital Européen-Georges Pompidou bus route from it%26#39;s stop(s) near CADET Metro (heading in the direction of Hôpital Européen-Georges Pompidou...past the Garnier Opéra, around Église Madeleine, through Place de la Concorde, up the lower-Champs Élysées, across the Seine at Pont de l%26#39;Alma, along the Left Bank quais to the same tall, pointy construction noted above (what is the damn thing called???)

Even though the #32 bus route isn%26#39;t quite as %26#39;..scenic..%26#39; as the #42 route...if this is your first trip to Paris(?), TAKE THE #32 BUS from CADET to TROCADERO for the first time...Trust me...you won%26#39;t regret it.

For the transfer from hotel out to CDG via public transportation you%26#39;ve got a couple of good options.

1st--make your way to GARE du NORD and take the RER %26#39;B-3%26#39; ligne train (any train heading in the direction of %26#39;Aéroport CDG%26#39;..any %26#39;B%26#39; train with an %26#39;..E xxx..%26#39; designation)

2nd--make your way to the pick-up point for the ROISSYBUS at the interscetion of rue Scribe %26amp; rue Auber (near place de la Opéra (via #7 Metro or #42 bus route).

As noted above, the RATP web site is a GREAT planning %26#39;..tool..%26#39;. But it takes some %26#39;poking around%26#39; to get the most out of it. So do yourself a big favour and take some time to %26#39;..tinker..%26#39; with it and figure out its many useful features. You won%26#39;t be sorry you did.
