2nd time in Paris

Hi all, I desperately need help!

This will be my second time in Paris and I am looking for FUN and exciting things to do while I am there for over a week. Most sites just offer your major attractions, louvre, Notredam, etc.

I love crowds and want a different itinerary from the normal sites/museum scene.

I want to do some shopping, check out some markets, and being active.

Can anyone recommend anything, I even if it is 1 hour away?

This gives you information about 4 outdoor, primarily food markets around Paris...

My favorite is number 1.

For smapling a few glasses of wine and perhaps une petite assiette...

And maybe a canal ride, esp on the Canal St. Martin...

I offered this suggestion to someone else a few days ago:

A whole month in Paris! Wow, you are soooo lucky!!

Anyway,I found this info in a magazine a few days ago and saved it for future use.

Here are some not that usual things to do and see in Paris:

1 - Gare de l%26#39;Est (under tracks 2 %26amp; 3) there is German Center of Operations from 1941 that can be visited. It looks as the day it was abandoned.

2 - Museum of the Curie couple - rue Pierre %26amp; Marie Curie # 11.

3 - Church of Francis Xavier - they have The Last Supper by Tintoretto (it can only be seen on Sunday mornings, thogugh)

4 - Thorn crown (believed to be the real relic) - Notre Dame - Only shown first Friday of each month for one hour - between 3 and 4 pm.

5 - Chinatown - 13th Arr.

Good luck.

For markets (locations and times) see: www.v1.paris.fr/en/Living/markets/markets.

The Marais (4th) is great for cafes, bars and boutiques. Check out the rue Francs Bourgeois and surrounding streets.

Enjoy a glace (Berthillon and Amorino both have their adherents – we liked both) while you’re watching the passing parade on the Ile de la Cite/Ile St Louis on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Do the Canal St Martin tour from Villette down to the Seine.

Pick up stuff for a picnic (maybe from the rue Cler market) and have a picnic at sunset in the Parc du Champ de Mars near the Tour Eiffel.

Visit the different gardens of Paris.

Do some window shopping in the spiritual homes of haute couture – the rue du Foubourg Saint-Honoré in the 1st, the avenue Montaigne in the 8th and, for fine jewellery, the rue de la Paix/Place Vendôme (off the rue du Foubourg Saint-Honoré).

Explore the streets of Montmartre.

Use the %26quot;search%26quot; feature at the top of this forum and type in %26quot;In Love With Paris 30 Day Itinerary.%26quot; It is written in 8 different parts and has many things to do which you may not have done before in Paris.

Thanks to all, these are all excellent suggestions!
