Transportation from Charles de Gaulle airport to city hotel

We are staying in a hotel near the metro station Republique . We arrive in early in the morning. According to past posts, RER is not the best way to go (stairs up and down/ crime/change in lines difficult) . We are a family of 4 (with 2 teenagers).

Is there a bus/coach (not the shuttle buses as they also seem unreliable ) that would drop us near our hotel ?

A friend said they took one for 8.50 Euros recently to their hotel (perhaps more upmarket than the one we are staying in). This is the same as the RER cost so I would prefer the bus.

A taxi, according to the threads here only takes 3 people and charges for extra bags. There are 4 of us, and 3 bags.

I would appreciate your advice on this. Thanks.

doing more research on this, we will take the Roissy bus. I have checked everyone%26#39;s input from before as this topic has come up endless times. Thanks.

We are also a family of 4 and had no trouble finding taxis to and from the airport that could accommodate all of us plus our luggage. We also had been staying in Republique, but spent the last night near the airport. The taxi to the airport hotel from Republique cost about 40euros, not much more than the 8.50 apiece for the shuttle.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Hi

My wife and I went to Paris a couple of years back and we took the RER/Metro to get to our hotel and it was not a huge problem. But it does help if you are a bit used to the train and metro system in advance :-) Anyway, I have a Paris trip report that I can share with you if you are interested. Send me a mail on gardkarlsen@hotmail.com and I%26#39;ll send it to you :-) Have a great trip :-)

Regards

Gard
