ibuprofen in france?

We%26#39;re in France and my daughter is sick. She%26#39;s almost gone through our small bottle of Advil (ibuprofen). Pretty sure that it%26#39;s used here but not sure by what name? Anyone know what to ask the pharmacist? Thanks!

Most all pharmacists speak at least some English, at least sufficiently well to help you.

Ibuprofen is the same in France as in the US, just ask for it. If you explain your situation in full, the pharmacist may be able to give you additional medications based upon your needs.

There will be a pharmacy available 24 hours if needed, just ask at your hotel front desk.

I agree that the pharmacists wil speak enought English to help you. There is a pharmacy on Champs Elysees that is open all night.

from an internet site : ibuprofen = isobutylphenyl propionic acid

The easiest is to take in your empty box/packaging and show it to the pharmacist. I%26#39;ve bought both ibuprofen and paracetamol that way in the past!

Just ask for %26quot;Ibuprofène%26quot; which is the same as Advil 400 mg.

Thanks all!

Just as an aside, I%26#39;ve talked to pharmacists twice about other issues and neither spoke enough English to communicate (not that I would expect them to, offhand)...it was all pantomime -- which worked. This is in Aix. No biggie, just thought you might find it interesting.

Ibuprofen is available in most of Europe as Ibuprofen. I have obtained it in Paris from several different pharmacies over the years. There isn%26#39;t any difficulty to it at all. Just ask for it.

I have always said J%26#39;ai besoin d%26#39;Ibroprofen, s%26#39;il vous plait. I need some Ibroprofen, please. It%26#39;s always worked for me.
