help....

Hi there

I arrive in Cannes at 23h25 on a Saturday evening and need to get to Mandelieu and have no idea how to do it. It is my first time in Cannes, so would appreciate any help

|||

There is a midnight bus C which goes to Mandelieu at 00.45 from the main Cannes bus station.

Would recommend a taxi though -there is a rank at both the bus and rail stations

|||

Sorry if I was%26#39;nt clear in my earlier mail. My plane lands at 23h25. Would you recommend that I take a cab - If so how much would it cost me and would I also have to give the driver a tip? Also, I do not speak French so am afraid I will get %26quot;ripped%26quot; off and as a female, I am feeling a bit intimidated.

|||

Bit confused :)

Where does your plane land at 23.25?

Is it at Cannes Mandelieu airport or at Nice airport?

|||

Hi Soooooz

I land at Cote D%26#39; Azur Airport Nice at 23h25 and then need to travel to Azur Hotel, Avenue Marachel Juin, Mandelieu.

Hi Carmen,

From Nice airport at that time on a Saturday night, there aren%26#39;t many good options.

The night bus NOCTAM N200 runs at 01.00 ,costs only 1 euro and takes just over an hour to reach Cannes bus station.

From the Cannes bus station, a local taxi is needed - I would guess at around 15-20 euros fare plus tip.

There is also a train from Nice St Augustin station near the airport, at 00.31.

The fare is ~6 euros and the journey takes about 40 minutes. The train goes all the way to Cannes la Bocca which is closer to your hotel than the main Cannes railway station. Again a taxi would be needed from the rail station in Cannes la Bocca.

If you%26#39;re on your own, I wouldn%26#39;t recommend this option at the time of night that you are travelling.

An airport taxi would cost round 100 euros + extras or you could try an airport transfer service :

Another possibility (may be cheaper than a taxi) is to stay at an airport hotel in Nice for the night and travel to La Napoule on Sunday morning when public transport would be much easier and more available.

Last suggestion- I came across a couple of numbers for private english drivers in the Cannes area who might be able to pick you up at the airport by arrangement. Their rates should be less than the airport taxis or transport services,no personal experience of them though.

2. Kevin - call mobile 0033 (0) 62 09 49 543 or email airportcars06@hotmail.co.uk

Hope this helps and good luck !

Wow Soooz, thank you so much for your help. I am probably going to phone the two guys to see if they are cheaper and find out if they will be available to pick me up.

Now, I have more questions and hope you can help - Do you have any idea of what the AZUR HOTEL

Avenue Maréchal Juin, 06210 MANDELIEU FRANCE is like and also what is the weather like in mid October?

|||

The weather in mid October is usually quite good. During the day temperatures are late 60%26#39;s/low 70%26#39;s. Evenings will be cooler.

It%26#39;s starting to get more changeable though and if you%26#39;re unlucky it can rain heavily, but usually not for more than a day at a time.

Afraid I don%26#39;t know much about the hotel- location is the thing that I%26#39;d be a little concerned about if you don%26#39;t have a car for getting around . There isn%26#39;t much round it .

If the purpose of your visit is to attend a conference in Cannes, you may find yourself a bit isolated
