Young family looking for good affordable hotel

hi

Young family of four traveling to La Rochelle in Sept for 3 nights looking for good affordable hotel in La Rochelle. Flying into airport and hiring a car as we wish to travel south to La Palmyre Zoo. I would be grateful if anybody could recommend a hotel for around €100 per night in or around La Rochelle as we are driving we would be looking for parking. it doesn%26#39;t have to be in the city centre as we will be driving but near enough!!!

thanks a mill

Hi. I assume you%26#39;re a family of four, of whom two are young children? We%26#39;ve booked a 1 st floor family room (spacious with a double plus two single beds and ensuite) at the Hotel St Jean D%26#39;acre in the old port. Cost is 139 Euros per night (continental breakfast is 11 Euro per person but free for under 8s, though there are lots of cafes/bars etc. nearby). We%26#39;ve stayed here before and find the central location superb, staff friendly, and the room (Salon Chauray, if you%26#39;re interested) quiet thanks to excellent double glazing (air con, too). However, we don%26#39;t drive and some reviewers have commented unfavourably about parking arrangements; why not check out the hotel reviews on TripAdvisor? For example, the nearby Comfort Hotel St Nicolas seems to have impressed many vistors (haven%26#39;t stayed there ourselves). Hope this is helpful.

when are you staying there that is a good rate for this hotel. As we have just returned from La rochelle and were looking at this hotel free wi fi too for teeenagers! although La rochelle has lots of cafes with wi fi.

There is a logis hotel in the port area that was reasonable with a swimming pool. no parking though.
