We plan to travel to Avignon on Eurostar/tgv soon. I am at the moment on crutches and very slow; stairs are a real problem. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to change trains at Lille station please?

hey fitz,
sorry to hear you%26#39;re on crutches..that can%26#39;t be much fun! however, getting around lille europe shouldn%26#39;t be too much of a problem...there are lifts from the platform to the upper levels, and also escalators too...however, i am wondering if you%26#39;re travelling with a companion, cos i%26#39;m thinking luggage might be a problem if you%26#39;re on crutches?
lille europe isn%26#39;t too big a station to navigate your way around, so you%26#39;ll be fine...
hope this helps,

There are lifts and escalators at Lille station but if you still have concerns about your problem have a look at the Eurostar web site.
They offer a service to assist people with mobility problems.
Look for %26#39;Travel Information%26#39; on the Home page.
Then %26#39;Before you Go%26#39; and then %26#39;Special Travel Needs%26#39;
I%26#39;ve never needed to use the service and don%26#39;t know what they charge but a phone call to them may allay your worries.

As already said, lifts and stairs are available. Also, we found it a great help that you can find exactly where your carriage will stop, and be close to the door when the train arrives; we didn%26#39;t know that, and it was a great help.
Good luck, Jo
