Gassin

I will be staying in Gassin at the Villa BelRose the second week in September. Which are the best-closeby beaches?

Any other inside info helpful.

I will be there during the last week of September and I believe the hotel is located on the penninsula of St Tropez and has a beach right near the hotel - in fact some of their rooms have sea views.

Yes I am pretty sure your right but I am guessing that it is miles from the hotel to the Beach and probably without a direct road

Perhaps the hotel can assist you once you are there....though I cannot imagine that it would be more than a 10 or 15 minute drive. The hotel does also have a lovely pool.

You are surrounded by beaches given you are in the middle of the peninsula. None are by a direct fast road but all easily reachable. You just have to decide what sort of beach you want. You can go to the famous private beaches of Pampelonne but be aware that they are a little exposed and if the weather is not so good they can be windy. You can go down to the Bay of Cavalaire which is more of a family bay and sheltered. (See my little picture). Alternatively anywhere along the Bay of St Tropez again for a bit more shelter. Will you have a car? Unfortunately there has been quite a severe fire towards the west end of Pampelonne beach near Bonne Terrasse and L%26#39;Escalet. I%26#39;m not sure of the exact damage. I am sure that your hotel can point you in the right direction.

I hope you have a good holiday.

Can heartily recommend Pardigon Plage, really nice spot, great for kids, gentle shelf, nice sand.

About 2 or 3 km before you reach Cavalaire - good sized car park (arrive early or at lunch time) entrance is immediately after a big sign that says Theatre du something.

We met an English family staying at Pamplonne who drove to Pardigon every day because the beach was better for them and their young daughters

Also in Gassin try the restaurant Le Pescadou - one of our very best meals in a beautiful spot.

And take plenty of money - it ain%26#39;t cheap! But a great holiday.

Probably my favourite meal was at La Verdoyante just outside Gassin by the Chateau Minuty vineyards (signposted from the bendy road up to Gassin).

I was going to suggest L%26#39;Escalet beach but was sad to hear there have been fires.

Try google earth or maps to see how near to everywhere you are. would think a car would be essential.

Have a great time.
