Quiche

Is quiche readily available in Paris? We%26#39;re staying close to Etienne Marcel metro stop and would be interested in enjoying some close to %26#39;home%26#39; if anyone has a recommendation.

You won%26#39;t have trouble finding quiche in Paris although I don%26#39;t have a particular recommendation. Check out boulangerie windows:o) You%26#39;d certainly find a quiche lorraine at Paul, various branches dotted around Paris. List here

Look out for quiche lorraine, quiche à la gruyère, quiche vosgienne or quiche alsacienne to name a few.

Good news: Angelina%26#39;s on Rue de Rivoli has delicious quiche. I%26#39;ve had it several times. It isn%26#39;t far from where you are staying. It is across from the western end of the Tuilleries on the North side. I wish I was there right now. Enjoy!

There is a darling little place on Rue Mouffetard. You can get it to go or eat there. We ate there and I thought theat it was very good and reasonable. You can see the quiche in the window.

Okay, great. We%26#39;re not sure where we%26#39;ll end up but it%26#39;s nice to know we%26#39;ve got several options. Thanks for your posts!

ebabe, you mentioned a couple of quiche that I%26#39;m not familiar with.. quiche vosgienne and quiche alsacienne. I recently bought %26#39;Eating %26amp; Drinking in Paris%26#39; and see that %26#39;alsacienne%26#39; refers to %26#39;usually garnished with sausage and sauerkraut%26#39;.

What does %26#39;vosgienne%26#39; mean?

|||

Actually, I think that a quiche alsacienne is like Lorraine but with onions. I don%26#39;t know about vosgienne. I do know that I love quiche!

|||

Hmm, I checked the book again and the description for alsacienne (page 55) does say %26#39;usually garnished w/sausage and sauerkraut%26#39;. I guess it%26#39;s not the same when applied to quiche.

I love quiche too!
