I see that this discussion has already been held but as it was in 2006 I thought I would just double check again.
Are all the shops still closed on a Sunday? Is it still worth visiting Calais town centre?
Can anyone recommend any thing else to do?

Yes, all bar the small local shops are closed on a Sunday.
If you have a car you could drive to Cap Griz Nez and Cap Blanc Nez. Both lovely. Worth a trip.
You could also head down to the beach.
Or drive inland to St Omer and Hazebrouck and see some of the WWI memorials.

Try websites - %26#39;theotherside.co.uk%26#39; and %26#39;calais-guide.co.uk%26#39; - for loads of information.
A good book to buy is the %26#39;Channel Hoppers Guide%26#39; from their website %26#39;channelhoppers.net%26#39; - about £6.
