Longchamp question

Hi there - visiting Paris the week of Sept 1-7 and was hoping to visit Longchamp. I looked up what I could on the internet, and it seems that they only race there on Sundays? Please let me know if this is true if you have any first-hand knowledge as I am not sure I read the schedule right due to my poor French skills.

There is a big famous racing day in the beginning of October where the English come over in droves, dressed up (women in dresses and hats, men in suits). The place is packed and it is tons of fun. I went last year.

Other than that one day, I have heard that the French don%26#39;t really go to the races much. I don%26#39;t know the schedule.

With 5 major racing tracks near Paris and 250 over France, I don%26#39;t think one can say that the French seldom go to the races.

Pvoyageuse--sorry if I got it wrong about horse racing in France (I meant Paris). I wasn%26#39;t talking from first-hand knowledge. I had been told that hardly anyone goes to Longchamp--there are very few people at the races on Sundays--except for the fabulous Sunday in October which I witnessed myself. The place was packed, people were dressed up, tons of people from England/Great Britain were there, woman had on hats and a good time was had by all.

There will be three days of races during the 1st week of September at Longchamps, usually 8 races each day... Sept 2nd, September 5th, September 7th

Noon start times.

Paying the small fee, 3 euros weekdays, 4 euros weekends, gets you into the stands, the exhibits, restaurants, up close to view the post parades...

but you can also watch the races for free from the infield, where there%26#39;s also betting windows. It can feel a little %26quot;hardcore%26quot; there, (cigar chomping, raceform reading devotees) but you can also put your nose right to the rail as the herd thunders by...
