Help! I have only been to Paris one time before. My DH and myself are taking his parents this time. Mom really wants to experience an apartment rental. We really need two toilets and an elevator due to bad knees and AC. I am looking at Paris Perfect. They are costly but have a 15 percent discount. I am looking at the Vougeot apartment in the 7th. I do prefer the 7th just because I am the most familiar with it. Can anyone offer me some advice? I am just really nervous because I want them to LOVE Paris like I do!! By the way, we stayed in Hotel Muguet last time and LOVED IT!!! Just need more room and to be able to eat in our room. Thanks so very much!!

Did you really find a two bed room apartment with two bathrooms and a/c... that is very lucky,, my advice is do not take an apartment that has a sofa bed unless it is for kids,, ( so no, not in your case) .
My other advice is to branch out, the 7th would definately not be first on my list, try the 6th,,, love it , (its my favorite area) ,, or 4 th or 5th have nice areas too.. and more central in my mind then 7th. May be that will give you more choices.
What time of year are you going? I assume July ( 09) or August since you want a/c ,, right? I guess now is a good time to do the research, read all the trip reports you can that are posted to see what people say about the apartments they rent etc.
Good luck, ps, do a search on this site, many of the posters love to rent apartments and often will be able to give great recommendations, but I think some of them keep quiet about a favorite place,,, lol, just so when they want it is isn%26#39;t too popular to book,,

Check out www.parisaddress.com. We%26#39;ve used the service and can recommend it.
There’s a nice looking apartment on 217 rue du Faubourg Saint HonorĂ© in the 8th (code: FBSTO217) which has what you seem to be looking for. Pricey (€2,304 for the week) – but then it’s hard to get a 2 bed, 2 bathroom apartment is Paris – especially with aircon.

Thank you very much for the advice. I will take it. I think I will look for a place this time in the 5th or Ille St. Louis and branch out, as you say. And I will look up that website right away for some apartment rentals. I know we are being quite picky, I am just worrying it to death because I want it to be perfect for my in-laws like it was for me! Thank you again!

Take a look at the apartments offered by www.parisvacationapartments.com. We stayed in the Palais Royal 3-bedroom. They have two bedrooms apartments in the same building.
Wonderful apartment, great people to do business with, and a very convenient and lovely area.

Thanks for that lead! I am going to look that up right now! Wow! I have to tell you that I thought I was jumping the gun a bit looking for a place in September %26#39;09. Most of what I have found so far are already rented! Should have started in May, I suppose! Thanks again for the help!

Actually if you%26#39;re traveling with your parents, they might prefer the quieter 1st District, or even the 7th where you were looking. We found the 5th to be a college type of crowd, which is fun, and of course the 6th everyone likes. The Islands would be nice, too. We%26#39;ve stayed twice in the 1st and have been happy.

That sounds like good advice as well! I just looked up www.parisvacationapartments.com. Lovely apartments in the Palais Royal area! I think that is the 1st, right? Thanks everyone!

Yes, that%26#39;s the First, just a hop from the Louvre, a great area, nice shopping on Rue St. Honore nearby. Haven%26#39;t stayed in those apartments, but they have gotten good reviews on TA. You get what you pay for in an apartment. The more it is, the nicer, larger, updated, etc.
