Arriving St Lazare Corrail - switching to Metro line

We will be coming back in to Paris on a SCNF train from Normandy, arriving at Gare St-Lazare. We will need to find the M station. So...I just want to make sure I have this right:

Gare St-Lazare is ground level, we will need to exit that facility, and find signs to the Metro Saint-Lazare station, where we can catch our line 9 train to head to our hotel.

Do I have it right? Just trying to get my last-minute ducks in a row! :-)

Checking the map more carefully, it appears that to catch line 9 from StLazare we will need to use a connector passageway. Anyone familiar with this connector? Is it a long haul, or doable with light luggage?

Your theory is almost perfect. As you exit the Corail platform you will arrive on a large concourse. Look for the Metro signs and follow your nose. You do not need to exit the station as there are stairs and escalators down to the metro levels from the main concourse. Be prepared for a fair bit of walking - I was surprised just how far we hiked to line 14: maybe line 9 is closer. Any locals know?

Sorry your second post beat mine! You are quite right, line 9 does not go through St Lazare so it would be a fair walk. Where are you trying to get to? Maybe some of the locals can come up with a better plan.

Our hotel is next to the Boissiere station on line 6. I think this is probably okay - I checked the hotel%26#39;s website and this is actually the method that they suggest from St-Lazare, so it cannot be too bad. :-) Thanks for the tip on exiting (or not!) the station. I know we%26#39;ll get there...just trying to get a decent handle on it ahead of time. :-)

The way to the metro will be well-marked. At first it will just say %26quot;metro%26quot; then it will show directions for each line.

The change to line 9 is a little bit of a walk, but not too bad (the equivalent of a few blocks). The corridor is wide and new and easy to roll luggage through. It will be easier than doing the transfer on street level.

THe walk was nothing. We had a lovely Parisian lady who was taking the 9 train as well, and we walked with her there. We found our way to the next train easily. There are some tips I would like to add for navigating the Metro, but no time now. When we get back home (still in Paris) I will post back.
