cheap souvenirs

May I know where I can find cheap souvenirs in Paris, those like t shirts, key chain, etc.

Also, just in case somebody knows the similar place in Amsterdam as we will travel there as well.

Many thanks.

anyway, i searched this forum archive, and found a lot of useful information on cheap souvenirs...

I don%26#39;t know if this helps, but a friend of mine is just back from Paris--she said the same souvenirs sold along the Seine are way, way less expensive at Versailles. Eiffel tower key chains at 1 euro each were 5 for 1 euro (for example). I%26#39;m going next week, so I guess I will find out for myself....

Plus it%26#39;s great fun watching the souvenir sellers around the Eiffel tower scatter when the police come by.

Souvenir shops on the little street as you walk up to Sacre Coeur were by far the cheapest. Scarves costing 3.50 euros each everywhere else were 1.5 euros in these shops. Enamel painted Eiffel Towers that were 8-10 euros around Notre Dame were 4 euros each.

The cheapest will be on the way up to Sacre Coeur

Does anyone know the name of the street?

The cheap souvenirs are in that big shopping/eating plaza in Montmartre where all the artists are, a short hop from Sacre Coeur. That%26#39;s where we found the least expensive souvenirs (everyone sells the same stuff); most expensive were the exact same souvenirs in a gift shop/tourist section of Galeries Lafayette. Rue de Rivoli is reasonable.

K Tournesal, are you referring to Place du Tertre? I didn%26#39;t notice much of a difference in price. Is there a specific shop you can recall with lower prices?

STR17, sending postcards from the Eiffel Tour post office is a great souvenir.

Well, I don%26#39;t know the name of the area, it%26#39;s just that nice plaza where the artists are and people gather. There were several souvenir shops, one right off the plaza where we purchased things like prints, postcards, scarves, but honestly, the difference between Montmartre and other areas isn%26#39;t enough to worry about, if you see something you want, buy it I say.

you can find unexpected inexpensive souvenir shops between Montmartre and the Marais. there is a list of shops in this article - bonjourparis.com/story/…
