For a drink and to people watch try any of the three cafes that form three of the sides of the Place Contrescarpe. Cafes des Arts is the only one I recall, but yu can choose bywhat type of beer you feel like.

OH we love that area!

We always go to Paul et Marcy for fondue and raclette!

We took my Dad and Aunt who were visiting last time (very American types from Wisconsin and they loved it! It%26#39;s very French and mostly only locals as it is not very touristy)

And just off the rue Moufftard is the rue Pot de Fer which must have 6 or 8 small restraunts on each side. Youy can easily walk up one side and read menus, then down the other until you find one that looks good to you. I found this...

A few of my favourite places to dine are in this area of Paris. They are all small, traditional restaurants serving excellent French cuisine at very reasonable prices. They are popular with a local clientele as well as tourists.

Le Jardin d%26#39;Ivy on rue Mouffetard

L%26#39;Époque on rue du Cardinal-Lemoine (just at Place de la Contrescarpe)

Au Bon Coin on rue de la Collégiale (off the Avenue des Gobelins)

Oh, one of my favorite restaurants in Paris, and a good value too, is at the end of rue Pot de Fue. I can%26#39;t recall the name but you turn right on rue Pot de Fue from Rue Mouffetard and go to the end. It is on the right hand side and is very medival. They have prix fix of 16 euros and 22 euros for three courses. I loved the salmon and the lamb was also wonderful. Moms
