New Year in Nice

Hi

I%26#39;m currently planning a week long break in Nice over New Year. Can anyone advise me if there are any special New Year Celebrations planned?. Actually any information would be very useful! What days will be public holidays in France, just the 1st January or will the majority of the shops close for longer?

I%26#39;m also interested to find out about the sights of Nice, I enjoying walking, cycling and speak a little french so I%26#39;m keen to explore

If you like cycling and walking you really should go to the villages around Vence, greolieres Tourettes which is about 20 minutes from Nice airport.

Me too - I want to know whats on in Nice and Monte Carlos over X mas and new Year!!! Please advise anyone.

hi my wife and i go to our apartment in nice every newyear , if you want to go for a meal on newyears evening you have to book in advance. the meals usually start about 7pm and go on till 1am ,fireworks down at the promanade around midnight. shops are closed on the 1st ,most open on 2nd. plenty sights to see walking or taking the train, never tried cycling -keep off the roads mad french drivers, we love the place , hope you enjoy it as much as we do !!

Hi

There is a new guided cycle tour just started in Nice. I went on it with my girlfriend and we had a great time. Its 3 hours long and you cover about 10km. You get to see all the main attraction of Nice and learn some of its history.

Well worth doing.
