October weather

Hi going to Nice end of October, what is the weather like at that time of year. Also is Nice a year round resort, will the nightlife be good, 4 40-somethings going, so not clubbing, but nice lively winebars?

Greetings SuzieB,

As a rule, the weather in Nice in October is still quite lovely, especially with less tourists. I have been in the water in October, but the evenings are cool. There is not to say the possibility for rain. I once spent 2 weeks in October in torrential rain, but that was only once. All restaurants, and night life is in full swing. Without question Nice is an all year round resort city, just less tourists in the off months, and the possibility of some restaurant closings during these periods. But don%26#39;t worry, you won%26#39;t starve for food or excitement. Enjoy!

Wine bars aren%26#39;t as common as in the UK - they%26#39;re only just starting to appear. There%26#39;s a good one in Nice called the Bar Cave Wilson, and another called La Part des Anges - they%26#39;re both on the rue Gubernatis. But they close by about 10pm. You could also try the Sabor de Vino in Monte Carlo which stays open later than the ones in Nice - 4 of you could get a taxi back to Nice for about 20 euros each. It%26#39;d be a good night out for a change in Monaco.

Other places for nightlife are the Bodeghita del Havanna, which plays latin american music (live band from 11pm) serves cocktails and has lots of people practicing their salsa. Get there early if you want a table.
