Camping in Paris in early October? Crazy?

Hi all,

We would love to go back to Paris - we were there in February and had to spend most of our trip in our hotel room as my 4 year old got a bad asthma attack and was very ill. We would love to go back but the soonest would be 28 September to 4 October or so. Money is tight but I have built up enough Tesco points (through Buy %26amp; Fly) to get a free weeks camping with Keycamp in a Paris campsite. Would it be freezing by then? Very wet? Or would the weather still be mild enough? I know no-one can guarantee weather but I%26#39;m hoping someone will be familiar with the normal/usual weather patterns around then. There%26#39;s 5 of us - me, hubby, 14 year old son, 11 year old son and 4 year old daughter.

Many thanks,

Deb

Hi

If your family enjoys camping then, no you are not crazy.

As you noted you never know about the weather, but you can look to the averages to get a sense of what you%26#39;d be up against.

Averages for Paris in October is a high of 62F and a low of 49F

Average rainfall for October is 2.4 inches. Rainfall averages in Paris don%26#39;t vary all that much from month to month. Yes, August is the driest month but on average July is wetter than October.

Also, late September early October, can be one of the most pleasant and beautiful times in Paris.

Of course camping isn%26#39;t for everyone, but seeing that it apprears to be something your family does on occasion then you have some awareness of what you are likely to encounter.

Paris weather in the Fall is usually not extreme. The camp ground you mention seems to have some wonderful facilities... and hot showers...

No reason not to camp. After all it%26#39;s not the Alps.
