Steam Trains/Heritage Railways

Are there any steam trains or heritage railways within 90 minutes of Chenonceaux?

The one at Richelieu isnt running, and Chemin de Fer du Blanc à Argent might be outside your 90 minute range

Thanks for your speedy reply.

Do you think the Chemin de Fer du Blanc at Angers is worth a trip? My French isn%26#39;t up to understanding their site. My husband%26#39;s the train afficionado and I%26#39;d hate to drive for hours if its only a short run.

Any other tips in the area. My mobility%26#39;s limited, I walk with a crutch and also have a mobility scooter. My nearly 10 year old%26#39;s interested in most things.

I have to admit that even though I like trains, and have dragged Mrs Wiz around steam centres in the UK, I have not (yet) visited any of the French ones.

Depending on how healthy you and hubby are (and how game the kid is) a velorail might be good craic....

There%26#39;s a small narrow gauge railway at Rillé - see http://www.trains-fr.org/aecfm/. Possibly a little outside the 90min radius from Chenonceaux again. There%26#39;s also a small one close to Cléré les Pins, near to Tours. I forget the name, and don%26#39;t think it has a website. It%26#39;s only a small track though, more for kids than adults I think.
