Air France Bus vesus Taxi from CDG

There are 4 of us traveling (all senior citizens). We were planning to either one of the following the options from CDG to Residence Henri IV - rue des Bernardins (St Germain area)

Air France Bus to Arch de Triomphe and then taxi or metro to Hotel.

If we do this route, is there plenty of taxis or taxi stand sclose by where Air France drops off?

Also: What would be the closest metro station where Air France Bus drops off?

Taxi from CDG to Hotel - Will taxis accept 4 people?

Taxi from CDG to Hotel - Cost estimate?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Do some reserach and then do the math...

#2 or #4 Les CARS AIR FRANCE Coach fare 13€-14€ per person...PLUS...the taxi fare from the AFC drop-off point to your hotel...approc 15€

http://www.airfrance.com/double6/passage2.nsf/(LookupPublishedWeb)/en-EXCDG-CarsAF?OpenDocument#

TAXI PARISIAN from CDG to your hotel, approx.60€-70€. There are usually a good number of mini-van type taxis available at the regular taxi ranks, located just out in front of all airport arrival terminal, that will carry your party of four and baggage without problem. There will be a 2,75€ surcharge for the 4th passenger and a 1€ per bag (after the 1st) surcharge ADDED to the metered taxi fare. No tip is included in either fare or surcharges for the driver.

Thank you All..

Voyageur, yes that is funny you asked the same question...great...then we will also do the Air France Bus. Seems easy.... My father who worked for the airlines for 30 years+ often went to Paris...he will be traveling with us, he recommended this method as the best way yesterday... But it%26#39;s been a while since we%26#39;ve all been to Paris and taken transportation from the airport, so I was unsure if taxis still abound in certain areas...

Definitely RER and change over to Metro...was not a convenient option for us as we are seniors. Do not want to mess with the stair issue or long walk or pickpocketers...since we have bags, etc.

KDSail thanks for your help, yes i%26#39;ve done the research for this trip for at least 6 months now...somewhat burned out....it%26#39;s a 19 day France/Germany trip...just needed to inquire if there was more info I can obtain i.e. especially if taxis where accepting 4 people..i%26#39;ve been to Paris several times...but we always seem to have problem with taxis accepting 4 people and unsure of cost these days since it%26#39;s been a while....

Thanks from the Senior Citizen Group (50%26#39;s and 70%26#39;s)..we%26#39;ll be fine even though our legs and knees are not as good as before, but I know will have a great time...can%26#39;t wait :)

A taxi at CDG will not be much more expensive than 4 bus tickets + a taxi in town. Best way to go after a long flight.

It is also easier to get a larger taxi at airport than at other locations. Cost will be around 50 Euros depending on time of day.

La Photograhe...Thank you....

Yes, we%26#39;ll check on taxi situation first if both our flights arrive on time. We are flying separate airlines. We%26#39;ll check taxi stand (taxi parisien) see if they have a large taxi available and foremost if they accept 4 people. If this works out then will do taxi direct to hotel. Then my second choice will be Air France Bus, then taxi. These 2 options appears to be a better method than messing with the RER change over to Metro ..stairs, long walk, etc.

Typically, I reserve an airport shuttle in advance, but after an experience we had in London a couple years ago. When we arrived they were not on site, I had to call the company several times. We waited 4 hours in a very hot London airport (no a/c in this terminal) unsure why. The excuse they provided was the 1st driver was in an accident and he did not call the company. When they finally sent a driver, he arrived with a small van in place of the large van I prepaid. We were on a Baltic Sea Cruise with 12 luggages (8 large and 4 small) and top of everything else, the driver appeared to be new and unfamiliar with London. My father almost fell off the seat several times as we were all squeezed together and he was at the end of the seat. Just very bad experience all around. We%26#39;ll that was the only poor experience we%26#39;ve had with transportation. Our van transportation a few days later to Port of Dover was excellent, so at least that made up for the London experience. These days, I%26#39;m hesitant to make advance reservation for airport shuttles.

Thanks again everyone....this is the last info I need for Paris (hopefully). Can%26#39;t wait to see Paris again :)

I have a different suggestion.

your Plan A sounds like you will see if a large taxi is available, if so, take that.

Plan B - instead of an AF coach at 13-14€, take the Roissybus for 8.2€ to place de l%26#39;Opera, then you can still get a taxi for the remainder.

ratp.info/informer/…aeroport_roissybus.php

The Roissybus pickup is at:

Terminal 1 Gate 30, level 5-Arrivals

Terminal 2A/2C Gate A9

Terminal 2B/2D Gate D11

Terminal 2E/2F Galerie 5

Terminal 3 Exit the Arrival hall

travelnutty...Thank you...I appreciate your assistance.

It does look closer to our hotel where the Roissy Bus drops off than where the AF drops off. But will there be a taxi stand close by Opera area where the Roissy Bus drops off?

|||

Taxis are in front of Grand Hotel, very near Roissy bus stop. At the end you may not save much money - if any at all.

You probably went to Europe already. In the future visit Viator.com for transfers and tours.
