Has anyone eaten at Keisuke Matsushima's restaurant?

I am thinking of booking an evening meal here for our forthcoming 25th wedding anniversary. Does it live up to all the hype?

Any idea as to prices and food type.It is in Rue de France.

Gosh Scentsitive, it sounds wonderful - wish you%26#39;d told me about it before our recent trip - will add it to my list of places to try on our next visit to Nice.

This is a new, good blog that mentions the restaurant and prices, plus others that I know about, plus others that are new to me.

Happy Silver Wedding

Cheers

Hi --

Go to the web site and judge for yourself.

I haven%26#39;t seen the entire menu, but it appears to be French cuisine with a Japanese eye for colour and texture. Since he has a Michelin star, I expect the food to be pretty good and the prices to be pretty high.

Thank you Elaine126 and Traveler for your replies. Has anyone actually eaten there??

I am also considering Jouni as an option, so any reports from there would be useful too.

I ate at his restaurant several years ago when it was called Kei%26#39;s Passion. He has since enlarged the space and gotten a Michelin star. Our meal at Kei%26#39;s Passion was superb and one we still talk about. We haven%26#39;t been since he%26#39;s enlarged because it was closed for the renovation once when were there and we just didn%26#39;t make it there on subsequent visits.

I%26#39;ve been to Jouni 3 times. The first was for dinner at its old location and we really enjoyed that meal. Then for lunch twice at the La Reserve location and were very pleased both times.

We have decided to book a table at Jouni%26#39;s for a lunchtime in September. Will report back later how it went.

I have eaten there - we missed lunch and went for dinner instead. If you are a real foody - and think of cusines as an art form - it%26#39;s definately worth a visit as some of his ideas are really new thinking

that work.
