driving outside of Paris

I will be staying at the mrriott resort outside of Paris for a week in Sept. I am hoping to take a day trip into the area outside the city .Perhaps Rouen Giverny and on to Mont St Michel (however that may warrant an overnight ) Is there an area in and around the city that would be nice to see and drive to. If we need to spend a night away is it better to go to the Loire Valley versus Normandy?I have the car for two days but was hoping to to take tow day trips any suggestions?

Paris-Giverny-Rouen-Mont St Michel is at least 250 miles (one way), so you would certainly need to stay overnight. I would suggest Giverny then on to Rouen and spend a night there. If you go further, either to Mont St Michel or to the Normandy D-day beaches, say, you%26#39;ll spend an awful lot of your two days driving.

I would suggest a Rouen / Giverny day, stopping and spending the night in Bayeux. See the tapestry, drive to the Coleville-sur-Mer, then Omaha Beach, then jam to MSM.... it%26#39;s packing in a lot in a little time, but have car, will travel....
