alcohol in public

just wondering if it is acceptable/legal to drink beer/wine in public places such as parks (tastefully as in a picnic with my wife)

thanks

We always have without any problems. Be sure and pack a good corkscrew. We had picnics nearly everyday with a great bottle of wine. Our favorite place, among many delightful spots, was in front of the Eiffel Tower. We also took along some plastic wine glasses that came in quite handy.

You%26#39;ll have a great time picnicking in the many parks.

The official Paris park regulations only allow alcoholic drinks on picnic sites (and in the park restaurants, etc., selling alcoholic drinks). As long as you%26#39;re picknicking, I wouldn%26#39;t worry.

I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s legal, but it%26#39;s certainly acceptable! Last time we were there, we took a bottle of wine to the tiny park next to our hotel while our room was cleaned. There were lots of people hanging out on the grass and no one gave us a second glance when we pulled out our wine.
