Casual restaurants in and around Gordes?

We are off on Saturday with three children - does anyone have any thoguths on great places to eat?

Our favorite was the restaurant at La Ferme de la Huppe, a rustic but very comfortable inn below Gordes on one of the access roads that goes up the hill. We%26#39;ve recommended it to many people, and so far everyone has liked it very much. Prices are moderate.

We very much enjoyed www.auberge-carcarille.com/fr/restaurant.php below Gordes on the road between Gordes and Rousillon. Not inexpensive, but very good food and wine at a comparatively reasonable price. In Gordes, L%26#39;Artegal across the street from the castle and the tres expensive le Renaissance is quite good and reasonable. In Oppede le Vieux is the little gem Le Petit Cafe in the center of the village.

Just outside Gordes you%26#39;ll find http://www.restaurant-estellan.com/ The lunch menu is excellent value and many families with young children enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with climbing features for the young in the grounds.

All the restaurants that have been mentioned so far are great but not what I would call casual. I%26#39;m not sure what to recommend as it depends on your budget, age of the children and your particular tastes. For lunch you could try Mariannas in the centre of Gordes that benefits from the shade of the Chateau where you can eat salads, pasta etc.If you give more info. I%26#39;d be glad to help.

Hi,

Our children are 3.5 and 6 but are generally reasonably behaved in restaurants. They love traditional French food. I am not so concerned about budget but more somewhere where they will be accepted happily and preferably without having to book a table at lunchtime.

Also, are there any specifc places that the children would love?

Thank you

You%26#39;ve received some good suggestions. Because a restaurant uses tablecloths and wine glasses doesn%26#39;t mean it isn%26#39;t casual or that children aren%26#39;t welcome. One other place we enjoyed that fits the category is Le Bistrot in Rousillon.
