Hi,
My boyfriend and I will be staying at the Hotel Magenta Paris (formerly Relais de Paris Magenta Republique)along Boulevard de Magenta for 2 nights and I am curious about the noise/traffic level around this area. Also, using this hotel as a starting point, what would be the most efficient route to cover the major sites of Paris in 5 days (first 3 days and last 2 days of an 18 day vacation throughout France).

Apparently the hotel is on Metro line 5 between the stations of Gare de l%26#39;Est and Republique. By metro you can reach anything you want in Paris; just do your research, go prepared with a metro plan which you can easily find online, you should not have any problems. I have not stayed at the specific hotel, the area doesnt seem noisy to me.
We stayed in the 10th arr. November 2007 (for our 30th wedding anniversary), on rue Fabourg St. Denis, and even though it is not the Marais, we enjoyed it very much.
Have a great trip.

Hi stayed here a few years ago and had an inward facing room so was not noisy at all. Its not far from the metro, nearest stop about two minutes walk. We found it convenient. Small rooms but thats Paris for you. We actually walked down via the Marais to the Seine, a pleasant enough stroll.
