Cafe/bakery near Serotel Lutece in the 5th??

Hello all,

Traveling to Paris next month, staying at Serotel Lutuce on 2 rue Bertholletece in the 5th. Can anyone recommend a lunch/dinner place within easy walking distance (I will be with my dad, who is older and can walk, but not forever and ever). I had seen on these boards the recommendation to find a %26quot;home base%26quot; type of cafe that you could go to everyday, and that is very appealing to me! Also, is it an easy walk to the Mouffetarde Market?? We are only in Paris for 4 nights and rather than try to see every blessed thing, I want to primarily enjoy the Latin Quarter and soak up the closer sights,

thanks so much :-)

You%26#39;ve gone a little Italian on us there, it%26#39;s rue Berthollet :o)

If you put your hotel address into something like Google or Yahoo maps you should be able to search restaurants nearby and, once you have some names, check here if anyone has used them.

The walk between rue Berthollet and rue Mouffetarde is around 600 mtrs depending on your start and stopping points.

Oh, meant to say. I can understand you don%26#39;t want to chase all over with your Father but maybe a couple of trips on the hop-on/off bus so he could see things without all the walking? Maybe take one route one day and another on a second day:?

Just a suggestion.

Just round the corner on the Boulevard de Port-Royal is one of our favourite restaurants in Paris - Le Languedoc. It is a small, family-run place that serves excellent traditional French as well as the cuisine of south west France. The prices are very reasonable. It is very popular with the local clientele so do reserve or get there early to ensure a table.

The open air markets on the rue Mouffetard are a 10 minute walk from rue Berthollet. Le Jardin d%26#39;Ivy is another of our favourite dining places on that street; a little further up the rue Mouffetard is Place de la Contrescarpe where you will find yet another of our regular dining haunts when in Paris - L%26#39;Époque at the top of rue du Cardinal-Lemoine.

Bon appetit!

Thanks so much for the recommendations... had not thought to do that Google map thing!! Will follow up on that, and come back with a few more specifics.

We may do the HOHO bus as well.

Very excited about it all :-)
