Hi,
My husband and I (aged in our thirties with no children) were thinking of going to Brittany in September and staying at Domain De Kerlann for five nights. Has anybody stayed in this site and what are your opinions on it. We just want relaxation and to drive to visit some of the nearby towns. Would a gite or apartment be more suitable? Thank you
Annette

We have been there 3 times and it`s a nice site, not too noisy and with plenty to see in surrounding area. There are good swimming pools on site or bikes to hire, if you feel energetic. Nearby village of Pont Aven is very nice, as is Concarneau, a walled fishing town. We enjoyed a boat trip from Pont Aven or nice meal in the evening there, nice atmosphere.
We have 2 kids who enjoyed the evening entertainment, but if you want a quiet evening the entertainment doesn`t intrude on your peace and quiet.Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information. Would mid September be a good time to go

We%26#39;ve just returned (2 adults/ 4 kids aged 1 - 9).We stayed in a mobile home (an excellence 2 bed) which was well equipped and had a terrace. The camp was OK. I have to admit we were sited right next to the entrance barrier and close to the entertainment which we found very loud (the disco went on untill 1am every night) followed by lots of noise (revving of scooters, horns, flashing headlights) - it seems to attract lots of local lads!! I%26#39;m not sure about the noise towards the rear of the park but it def.made getting 4 kids to bed very difficult! The evening entertainment was very hit and miss (mostly miss!)! The Animation staff seemed knackered most of the time but did their best - our kids enjoyed going to the odd Pirates Club! The surrounding area is really pretty with lovely villages to visit (Pont Aven - try the the %26quot;Moulin du Grand Poulguin%26quot; restuarant - served lots of dishes to suit all tastes (they even provide a menu in English), not terribly expensive, staff speak good English if you find French a challenge and the service if quick!)There are some gorgeous beaches with the softest sand (Rospico was fab!). We found driving round really easy and well signed. There are also plenty of local supermarkets (Intermarche/ LeClearke/ Casino) within minutes of the park. Look out for local festivals in the summer. We went along to the Fest Noz which had local music/ food (beautiful setting but take something warm as it got very cold in August!! We travelled from Cherbourg which took around 5 hours with the odd loo stop - the directions from Siblu are very accurate so use them if you don%26#39;t have satnav! Oh - and take insect repellent - the whole area suffers from a wasp prob (my 3 year old and I both got stung!) The wasps are absolutely everywhere!!
