Souvenir prices in Lourdes?

Hello! My daughter is traveling to Lourdes next week, and I%26#39;d like her purchase some rosaries or other small religious items to bring home. Can anyone advise a price range so I know how much to send her with? Are the tourist shops pretty expensive, or are there some reasonable alternatives? Thanks for any advice you can provide!

There is a vast selection of souvenirs available in Lourdes. Although these range from the tasteful to the ridiculous,I would not consider them particularly expensive. Rosaries of course come in varying sizes and quality starting at about €2($3). Similarly with medals, which can be bought for a few cents. I would recommend your daughter visit Palais de Rosaire (US$ accepted) which has 2 branches, one of which is very near St. Joseph%26#39;s entrance to the Sanctuaries. This is more of an emporium type store, allowing customers to browse at their leisure. Having said that,I have always found the assistants in most shops to be very helpful. A nice touch is the free gift offered when you spend over a certain amount. Remind her not to pack anything containing Lourdes water in her cabin baggage.

Hope this isn%26#39;t too late for you, but there so many souveniershops here that the stuff they sell is as cheap as chips! Honestly the stuff is everywhere from Rosaries to holy water to full archbishops gowns, cheap cheap cheap. From NZ$ 2-10. Cheers Wendi Green.
