2 days Paris before Cruise

We booked the Carnival Northern Europe cruise set sail on Aug 25, 2009 from London. We have been to Paris once and would like to visit again pre cruise. Do you think you can suggest a 2 days tour with hotel and connection to cruise terminal in London Dover. I%26#39;m looking for ideas.

It is a difficult question esp. not knowing a budget and there are many trip organizers out there who will gladly get a hold of you.

This is my view from where I live:

You will arrive from London at gare du Nord.

Get a hotel on bus 42/43 routes. I like Queen Mary, Flokestone, hotel de l%26#39;Arcade on rue de l%26#39;Arcade.

From that area you have access to many buses and metros. It works for me, shoud work for you. Even if you do not use bus 42 and 43, taxis use the same fast lanes and cost is not that much higher.

I%26#39;ve seen packages, but mostly on British web sites and going in the opposite direction.

Carnival departs from Dover cruise terminal, which is 75 miles from London. If you%26#39;re going to start in Paris, you%26#39;d have to get to London then Dover, or to Calais, France then Dover (via ferry).

You would have to allow for all that travel time.

At this late date, it would probably be more efficient to book all this on your own.

Thank you both. Someone suggested to stay at PARIS MARRIOTT RIVE GAUCHET for 2 days. But I think djk is correct that I%26#39;m going to lose another day in travel time. I also find out the hotels are not cheap in Paris. I may just fly direct to London and get on board.
