Day trip from London on Eurostar- need logistics help

We plan to arrive around 10am from London on October 9th (Thurs) for an unguided day in Paris. We need some help. We understand we won%26#39;t be able to experience a lot of Paris, and just want to get a flavor for the city and sites. We plan to spend the day on a hop on- hop off open top bus tour. We have a few questions:

1. How far are the tour buses from the Eurostar station? Can we walk?

2. Being realistic, what would be the top 2 or 3 places to stop and spend more time at on the tour?

3. We plan to take a 8pm Eurostar back to London that evening, how long before departure do we need to arrive at the station?

Thank you.

Hi

1) Open Tour bus at Gare du Nord stop is at 7 blvd de Denain.

Here is a list of stops for the 4 routes:

2) Stop at the Louvre complex and walk the area some. See the Tuileries garden, Palais Royale and Louvre buildings even if you do not have time to visit inside.

Stop at Notre Dame.

Stop at Palais Chaillot and walk across the river to the Eiffel Tower.

By hiting those sites you will be sure to see a good deal more of the city...

I%26#39;m sure others will suggest more....

3) 30 minutes should do it...
