Monto Carlo to Nice for a day

Our cruise ship will be arriving Monte Carlo at 7am for a day. Does it seem reasonable to first go to Nice by Bus(I understand it is a closer walk to sights from Bus station, visiting old town and the Matisse museum ) then get back in the early afternoon to see Monte Carlo before ship leaves at 6pm

I am not sure about the bus, but we took the train. It was extremely easy. It is about a 25 minute train ride. I would get to Nice early in the day so that you can go to the Flower/produce market. It has a lot of charm. It is in the old town each morning except Monday, when they have an antiques market.

It is better to see Monte Carlo in the afternoon, because if you want to go into the casino, it didnt open until 2:00 when we went.Enjoy!

The Matisse museum isn%26#39;t in the old town. You%26#39;ll need to get another bus up there, either the 17 from near where the bus station, the 22 from the main shopping area, or the 25 from the Pont St Michel end of the tramline. It%26#39;s not too far, and you should be able to do the old town and the Matisse museum and get back to the ship in time.

Thanks. We plan to go to Old Town first then go to the museum and the Cimiez arena and monastery. I understand there is a park one can have a picnic near the Matisse museum. Appreciate the bus info. Is it best to take the bus to Old Town(Vieux Nice) or can it be walked easily from the bus station

The bus station is directly opposite the old town, just cross the road the tram goes along, then go down one of the little alleys and you%26#39;re there.

Thanks again. It clears up which direction to go.
