dogs in le touquet

We have been to Le Touquet many times and love it but this April we intend to take our 2 whippets for the first time. Does anyone know if France is actually as dog friendly as we are led to believe? Do you know the Sports bar in Le Touquet for instance? Are dogs allowed in there? Does anyone know a dog friendly hotel? or any other bars or restaurants where dogs are welcome? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Don%26#39;t take your dogs to the South of France, think of Erlichia, leishmania, Heartworm, Babesia .......!!!!! We can%26#39;t treat those diseases in the UK easily if they bring them back with them!

OK have just realised that Le Touquet is not in the SOUTH of France - I KNEW that really!!!!

However, my %26#39;health%26#39; advice for dogs still stands, no one knows for sure where the ticks and sandflies are, so although it%26#39;s more likely for dogs to contract these diseases in the South, you can%26#39;t be sure that they are safe, just because you are in the North.

Speak carefully to your Vet about prevention and protection, a good 4 or so weeks before you go, if you MUST take them.

Extremely dog friendly but you may struggle with hotels as they are unlikely to let you leave them alone in the room (if you wanted to go out for the evening) but more so because you have two dogs. We also have two dogs and haven%26#39;t been able to find anywhere that would allow us to stay with both of them.

As for the bars and restaurants I would say the majority allow dogs in providing they are well behaved.

Dog sh*t seems to be the norm in most parts of France.

Why, in such a beatiful country??

As previous reply - dogs abound in Le Touquet %26amp; owners fail to clean up the mess. We had a meal in a restaurant where a dog owner brought their dog in with them - they kept it in a shoulder bag - feeding it their food under the table.

Le Touquet is one of the few towns that actually provide free plastic %26#39;bags%26#39; for the owners to pick up their dog%26#39;s faeces.

It%26#39;s just the owners who are sh*ttes and can%26#39;t be bothered!
