Has anyone rented this villa? It is difficult to get a feel for the place on the website.

I have never rented this place but I know exactly the road where it is. Barbigoua is in the hills between La Croix Valmer and Cavalaire, nearer to Croix Valmer. It is a quiet residential area.
You would need a car. The beach is just at the bottom of the hills, it is free or you can pay for sunbeds on one of the paying parts. It is a beautiful wide sandy (natural sand not brought in) safe beach. Boats go from there to the islands. There are a few restaurants down there.
The market in Croix Valmer is on Sunday, Cavalaire on Wednesday.
Croix Valmer has restaurants and shops for a bigger choice you can go to Cavalaire.
Whta would you like to know about?

Wonderful! Thank you for your reply. I%26#39;m not familiar with the area. To be candid, they are only charging 1430 Euros / week in April and May, which is far less than anything else I%26#39;ve seen for a villa this size with ocean views. The relatively low price makes me suspicious. Might you know a reason, or am I just paranoid?
The villa seems to be quite remote. Is it? We will have a car, but I%26#39;d like to be able to walk to a boulangerie in the morning for a cafe. Will that be possible? I%26#39;d also like to be close to a train station to explore the coast. Are there areas adjacent to walk/hike and explore?
I have a young family so the beach is a big attraction.
Any other insight about the services in the regions would be appreciated.

Book a dinner at the Chateau Valmer. Pick a warm evening, ask for seating on the terrace.

Just a couple of web-sites to look at.
The price is low because on the Maures coast April/May are considered low season. It is an area where many French people own properties and holiday. It is about 1.5 hours drive from Nice and naturally a little cheaper than the areas around Nice.
The villa is in a residential area built on the side of the hills (Maures). You cannot walk to a cafe or boulangerie. If you go anywhere you will need to drive.
There is no train service along that part of the coast. The train goes inland at St Raphael and returns to the coast at Toulon.
There are lots of lovely walks/hikes in the hills and at the far end of Gigaro all the way to Cap Lardier. In fact the coastal footpath goes from the beach, below you, all the way to St Tropez.
At that time of year the sea will be cold BTW. Also is the pool heated because otherwise that might be a bit too cold as well or maybe I am just a whimp!
I hope that has helped some more. If you need anything else just ask, I have had a house in the area for 20 years.

Judy, this is very helpful and comforting. We%26#39;ll have to decide whether this is the type of vacation we want. I had guessed the water temp and possibly the weather will be less than optimal. My little boys just want to dig in the sand anyway. No need to approach the water.
Thank you for assisting!

Hi Judy
As you were so helpful here. I was wondering what you thought of the location of this villa? It looks lovely, but I also want to be able to stroll to the village, etc, to get croissants for breakfast. We%26#39;re going at the end of September. I%26#39;m not sure if the pool is heated. Average temps say 20 Degrees, which is warm by Irish standards, this summer anyway, but we%26#39;re bringing our two girls, who would love to swim in the sea and the pool.
Thanks so much in advance
Lisa
