rental in paris

We are looking at renting through VRBO in Paris and want a nice low key neighborhood with lots of restaurants (non touristy preferably!) and activity %26amp; reasonably close to Musee D%26#39;Orsay.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Good question Adventurer.

I%26#39;m also seeking information about a rental.

I don%26#39;t know anything about VRBo as I haven%26#39;t rented before. Is it reliable and convenient?

Maybe Montparnasse (the 14th and 15th)? Its easy enough to get to the D%26#39;Orsay by metro, but any neighborhood within walking distance will be much more touristy.

I rented in Sablet last year through VRBO...worked out exceptionally well!

Have done some research...looks like it can vary but generally good.

Areas of Montmarte work for people here who want easy access to the %26#39;sites%26#39; but prefer to stay in a more local neighbourhood. Line 12 would bring you near to D%26#39;Orsay. If you search this forum you%26#39;ll find previous discussions.

I have used VRBO for rentals in Baltimore, MD and twice for Paris. Works for me although I have a %26#39;criteria%26#39; I follow to find a rental owner to work with.

If you search this forum for apartment rentals you should pick up some do%26#39;s and don%26#39;ts. That or check the sticky in the London, UK forum for apartment rentals. I had input on that and the advice is much the same whatever country you%26#39;re renting in.

every rental in VRBO is individually owned and so you have the best and the ugly, and on top of that pictures don%26#39;t even reflect the general aspect of the rental. So be carefull with your choices. And as usually i recommend VacationInParis.com

Dear adventuretraveler....the 2nd arrondissement near Rue Montorguiel fits your requirements, it is %26quot;low key, lots of non touristy restaurants and activity%26quot; and is very central. The prices are lower because it is off the tourist trail and you can get to the Musee d%26#39;Orsay on line 8 from Strasbourg st-Denis metro via Invalides in 10 minutes. A 5 minute walk along the quai

I don%26#39;t know why you particularly want to rent through VRBO but there are plenty of apartments around this area.

Centreparis have some nice, reasonable apartments and studios. I have stayed in one of their studios and can recommend them. There is a review pending on slowtrav and you can also read my review here.

I can vouch for centreparis too. We%26#39;ve had nothing but good experiences with them. Weekend emails often are not replied to until weekdays, FYI.
